Hooray! The foundation for the Corban Clinic expansion has finally begun to be laid! This project has been in process for a few years now, first with funds raised to purchase land adjacent to the Clinic, and then all the planning, research, and paperwork to get to this point. Why are we expanding the Clinic? Here are a few of the reasons.

As the Corban Clinic has continued to serve our own area, and in the many genuinely needy indigenous areas within a day’s drive from us, we’ve taken note of some trends:

1) There have been more and more medical interns wanting to come to observe, be a blessing, and prepare and train for future missionary and/or cross-cultural involvement. In the last few years in the Clinic we’ve had multiple interns from the US, England, and Ireland. They’ve come in various stages of their medical training, from Nursing Assistants, to RN’s, to Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Pre-Med, Nursing, and Pharmacological students, to recently graduated Physicians! We’re convinced that this evidently Holy Spirit-birthed expansion of our influence to the nations is a gift from God that we wish to further develop.

2) We’re in our second year of training indigenous Mexican Community Health Workers that have graduated from the base Bible school. Some of the graduates are now covering the Clinic for basic needs on the weekends! This makes for fewer consultations in our living room on Saturdays and Sundays. The goal of this course is to reproduce the health and spiritual care that the Corban Clinic has done for years through an infusion of full time indigenous Community Health Workers ministering in their own communities! THIS is exciting, and something we've worked towards for some years! Space for these has been an ongoing issue.

3) We’ve needed more testing equipment to do a better job, and this necessitates more space, as well. We plan on continuing to offer the service that so many can’t adequately get in our area, and are very pleased at the prospects of improving on that service with equipment that we already have (and have had nowhere to set up) or hope to procure by Stateside donations. And we’ll have enough exam rooms so that the doctors and nurses won’t have to do consults in the Pharmacy, and our evangelist won’t need to hang sheets outside to make a room for prayer!

Here are a few photos of the first days of groundbreaking, plus a sketch that will give you an idea of the proposed building. There have been changes to this drawing, and there will undoubtedly be a few more, but the great thing is that it’s going up at last!

We’d be glad to answer any questions that you might have about this project at any time! You could contact us through the “contact” page on this blog, or for medical particulars or questions about how and where to donate, this link, the Ness Blog, can be used to communicate with Drs. Dave and Mary Kay Ness, who have faithfully overseen the fundraising for this project. Or you can write them directly at, or

We’ll have the foundation done before the rainy season bursts into full swing soon. The next steps will require more funds. Perhaps you could ask the Lord if He would have you be part of that answer to our directed prayers! We would be honored at your desire to help, and we’re confident that the Lord will speak to those He wishes to participate. Thank you.

How blessed we are to be small part of God’s beneficent plan to both alleviate physical pain and minister to spiritual need! Wonderful Savior, Lord, and Friend! His unique blessings to you in the days to come…
